I really can't think of anything better to say than what I wrote last year about the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, why I participate & why I love it!
I hope you'll look back at the stories that I shared of my own heroes who have fought a courageous battle against the horrible disease. No doubt we all have our own heroes when it comes to this fight. I'd LoVe to hear who yours are! For every one that comments through Wednesday night with your hero/heroes names, I will make a $10 donation to Relay for Life. So come on...what are you waiting for???
Whether you're local or not, click here to find out about a Relay event in your hometown. I promise, you will be blessed!

My dad is my hero. He was diagnosed with cancer of the soft palate in June, 2004. He underwent surgery and treatments and is now cancer-free!!! He went through all of this and still managed to take care of my mom who is suffering from Alzheimer's, so I would say that makes him a hero!
BTW...I walked in the Relay for Life last year with a group of wonderful teachers. It was such a great experience, and I hated that I couldn't do it this year. Yay for you!!
my aunt betty is my hero. she was diagnosed with breast cancer in january of this year. she had surgery the first week of february...buried her mother, who she was caring for, the very next week. and is currently undergoing radiation. she's the perfect example of grace. it's never about "her." she's always thinking about someone else...before herself. that's just aunt betty~before cancer~and after cancer.
My dad, Joy's papaw, and several of his sisters have survived cancer. He, siblings and spouses, are a very close family. They often share meals together and always lovingly support one another in hard times. They are an inspiration to my generation and to Joy's. We are so blessed to have them in our lives!
my pawpaw is still my hero!! i shared his story with you last year. i also have 2 aunts who have overcome breast cancer and they amazed me with their strength to overcome and they did by God's grace. They are very much an inspiration to me and so thankful to have them in my life.
My uncle is my hero. He lost his battle with lymphoma after 18 months. He was truly a wonderful man before he passed away. I really miss him but I know he is in such a better place than we are, and one day I will see him again. Thanks Joy for doing this! You're GREAT!!
My grandmother is my hero. She fought hard for many years!!!
