Shouldn't New Year's Day be a day off work? Not for these boys! Poppy put them to work in the backyard picking up piles & piles of pecans. Luckily, my cousin Clint was in town to help out!

Thank goodness, Ben had that nifty little pocket to store his pecans!

Just in case you were wondering, they did get paid for working on this holiday. They each got $1.00. It's a good thing they don't know how much pecans cost these days!!! I think they might have asked for a little more :)

I wish I could get my kids to do things like that when the garden is ready to be picked in the summer! Blaine does an okay job but Brayden acts like he is getting his teeth pulled. Great job boys!
I have a couple of boys that I've asked to do some chores while they're home for the holidays. The chores were done willingly by one of them, but very reluctantly by the other, with a lot of comments. I guess I never realized that his time was far more valuable than everyone else's. :)
Uncle P,
I bet I could never guess which of my precious cousins would have been the reluctant worker :)
Love you all--even that slacker!
I'm sure that you've already guessed the guilty one. :) Love to all of you, too!
