My friend gabgirl encouraged some of us to start posting a recipe each Tuesday. Really, who doesn't need some new recipes?
When Cole first started drinking "real milk" we quickly learned that he hated "milk" and wouldn't touch it, however, we also quickly learned that if we called it "juice" he would drink it up! So there you have it...I will trick my children into eating (or drinking) things that they otherwise will not touch. So, here's my tricky little recipe hint, no matter what it is...make up a silly name!
Sloppy Dogs
12 oz lean ground beef
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 tbsp minced onion
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
1 pk hot dog buns
Brown the beef. Drain. Add tomato sauce, onion, oregano & basil. Cook on medium-high until mixture comes to a boil. Turn burner to low heat, cover & cook for 15 minutes. Spoon the mixture onto the buns & cover with mozzarella & parmesan cheese.

YAY!!!
can't wait to have some sloppy dogs! jake read this over my shoulder and said, "man, that sounds good!" :O)
I have to trick my husband to eat anything healthly! I have started cooking whole grain pasta and rice and trying to not use so much butter and salt. I have found that if I don't say anything when I change a recipe to make it healthier he usually does not notice. I can't wait for more recipes. I usually cook every night during the week and it seems we have been eating the same old stuff lately.
