Here's the obligatory 1st day of school picture...
5th grade & 2nd grade...UNBELIEVABLE!
The night before school, both boys were upset (which they never are!). All because they didn't want to leave Meg & they just wanted to stay home having fun with her. I assured them that there would still be plenty of fun times with Meg. So after homework & my 2 hours of their back-to-school paperwork were complete (that's really not an exaggeration), we headed to town. I have a coupon book for children with clever little "gifts" to give your children. Some are actual things, while others are giving of your time or creativity. I enclosed one coupon in each of the boys lunch boxes with a little note. Each was appropriate for them...Cole's was to buy any book of his choosing while Ben's was for an Ice Cream run. So after a trip to Target for prizes & Bruster's, we came home for a backyard baseball game followed by breakfast for supper (my boys absolute favorite!).
I survived the day, but it was a long one! It started with the boys informing me that they didn't want/need me to walk them to class. That was a first. Little stinkers! I wanted to honor them so I agreed. But got home & beat myself up about it all day long. I wished I had just insisted. It drove me crazy wondering about all the little things like who were they sitting by. Some days I just wish I had a rewind button!
But I also had other things to worry about. Meg has been so sick. For almost a week now she has had a fever between 103-104 without much relief despite the fact that she has been on antibiotics for 5 days. I took her back to her doctor for blood work & some tests. She got a shot & we go back in the morning to redo blood work. She did unbelievably well....only cried at the moment of impact (when the nurse stuck her with the needle) & she dried it up real quick. I am continually reminded what a blessing her little sweet disposition is!
Praying tomorrow is less stressful & that all my babies are happy & healthy!
