As I watched Ben lead the entire of pack of kids for a mile & then come flying across the finish line in 1st place at the Autumn Chase Run yesterday I was reminded of this verse....
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ~Psalm 139:14
I praise God that He made each of us. And not only that He made us, but made us wonderfully. Some days I need to be reminded of that, especially when it comes to Ben. We have dealt with his chronic leg pains since his 2nd birthday. We've seen every specialist & he has endured test after test. The only answer we ever get is severe growing pains. I can count on one hand the number of times that Ben has gone a full week without it over these last 5-1/2 years . It is gut-wrenching as a parent to be helpless to do anything but comfort him in pain! But I am so thankful that God wonderfully made him with athletic ability & the drive to never slow down. I'm always so proud of him, but never more than in those moments when I see him push on even though he knows that he will suffer the consequences. I continue to praise God for making my sweet (& very fast) little Ben wonderfully. And I continue to pray that he doesn't grow weary & keeps on pushing on!

Way to go Ben!! I know you are a proud Moma!! Hate to hear that he has to deal with such frequent leg pains...Sam has them but nothing to that extent! bless his heart, praying he wont have to deal with them anymore!!
and Yes! I sometimes forget to stop & be very thankful that we are so wonderfully made!
Good job Ben! Y'all are good parents to teach him to never give up! And he is a good boy to keep pushing!
Way to go, Ben! That's great! I didn't know he has been dealing with that...I remember Andy going through that for awhile. I'll be praying that it gets better very soon.
Joy, I suffered with severe growing pains all growing up. I feel so bad for him. I remember, my Mom would just lay and bed with me and rub my legs for hours on end. They will go away, but he's probably going to keep having it rough for a good while. I'll be praying for him.
