Downhill Fast

{Thanks for all the wishes to my big birthday boy! He enjoyed reading all of them!  And it made my heart happy that he even said "thank you" & grinned from ear to ear when he read what I wrote.}

Who would've ever thought that here in the South we would see such a snow?  Not a snow day, but a snow week!  I don't usually take weather forecasts seriously, but I am so thankful that this time I did & stocked up on groceries.  Apparently sledding is much like swimming & turns kids into little piggies!  It has been nice to have a week with my boys at home especially since it meant spending Cole's birthday with him!

My in laws live on a long street that goes up a huge hill.  The street is lined with very large trees, meaning the sun doesn't hit the street in most places to melt the snow & ice.  And the best part is the street dead-ends so there was no traffic...at all.  All these make for perfect sledding conditions!  The kids used all kinds of make-shift items for sledding....an actual wood sled, a plastic sled, a float, scuba gear, etc

Going downhill SUPER fast is a memory I don't think my kiddos will ever forget!  Here are some of my favorite pictures including my brother in law, sister in law, niece, nephew & Ryan's cousin who is a big ol' kid himself.  Although it was freezing standing there taking pictures, my heart sure was warmed to spend the day with family that I love so much!
