Day at the Zoo

We are really enjoying Fall Break this year. We decided not to take any big trip since Meg is on such a great schedule (which she got herself on from her first day at home). We chose instead to take a couple of day trips along with some fun activities around here that the kids wanted to do.
On Tuesday we headed out in the pouring rain to the Birmingham Zoo with my parents. It rained & rained & rained. The boys were getting upset that they weren't going to get to go to the zoo. I suggested they pray that it quit raining for just a brief time for us to make it through the zoo. I really did feel a little guilty saying that as I realize how desperately we need the rain. Just as we approached the north side of Birmingham there was no rain! When I made the comment that I couldn't believe the rain had stopped, Ben quickly told me that he had prayed for the rain to stop. We were blessed with a great day & the rain began just as we were leaving the zoo. How perfect!

This picture is my favorite...the boys couldn't wait to get in the aviary enclosure to feed the lorikeets. Ryan bought them each a cup of "food". When they entered, the birds immediately flocked to them. Cole quickly handed his cup to Ryan while Ben through his up in the air. One really liked Ryan & walked all up & down his arms screeching very loudly. The look on Ryan's face was so funny!

Thanks Mom & Dad! What a great day :-)

That picture of Ryan is priceless! Glad the rain stopped long enough for you to enjoy your day!
