I've seen this idea throughout the years. Now that both of the boys can write their own words & sentences, it seems like the perfect time to start!
The plan is...each night this month we'll take turns writing something that we are thankful for on a leaf & place it onto our Tree of Thanks.
I have a frame that Cole made in Kindergarten that had all things that he was thankful for listed on leaves around his precious little snaggle-tooth picture. I love that among the serious things such as "God", "Jesus", "Family" & "Food", there lies "Rockets" & "Star Wars". {Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE LITTLE BOYS???} I look forward to seeing how his thankfulness has matured. I plan to hang onto the leaves from each year & keep them as a treasure that we can look back on throughout the years enjoying the sweet memories of where we've been.

Awwww...I love this idea. So neato! We really need to do something like this at our house because sometimes my kids forget that they need to appreciate what kind of life they have. I'm gonna put more thought into maybe doing something like this.
Great idea Joy!
after reading this post I then read another similar one where their family made a thankful paper chain the whole month of november. I think this is a great idea and we may just have to start this tradition this year. Thats why I love bloggin!! Thanks Joy for always sharing such great ideas :)
What a neat idea! I love it. Hope you'll have a great weekend.
This is a really neat idea! We need to do something like this~Thanksgiving seems to be more of a "get a day out of school to eat" instead of really being thankful.
Love the idea Joy! I know that your family will treasure this throughout the years.
