Super B

"Good things come in small packages."
If you've heard that one & if you know my Ben then you know it's true! Don't let his small size fool you! He's tenacious, independent, determined, hard-headed & not afraid of anything! For these reasons, our good friend "Mr. Tom" starting calling him Super B a couple of years ago. At times his personality can absolutely wear me out, but most days it's what I love most about him.

Friday was Ben's day so this post is all about him!

We started our morning with Kindergarten graduation. Ben had a perfect report card all year long & managed to keep his hard-headed personality under wraps for most of the year...enough that his sweet teacher told me on more than one occasion that he was her best student. To which I quickly replied, "then I will pray for you!"

After the awards ceremony, the family all came to our house for a brunch in his honor.

Which was followed by an afternoon of fun-in-the-sun on the slip 'n slide, compliments of Cynfie. The boys along with their cousins played for hours, got sunburned & worn out. We laughed at their sliding, flipping, belly flops & especially the break-dancing moves.
I was more than a little worried that Ben would be too tired & too sunburned to play very well in his game that night. I should've known better...nothing stops him! He played so well in fact, that he was tagging people out, scored the 1st run, batted-in the tying run & scored the final run to get his team their very 1st victory all season. He barely beat the catcher to home plate. His coach was so excited...he threw him about 10 feet in the air. His teammates were so excited...they were all chanting his name. And, when it came time to give out the game ball...yes, it was Super B who got the ball! An incredible way to end an incredible day!

Super B, you are S-U-P-E-R! I am so proud of your determination this year!
