Thankful Thursday

Having a hard time finding {joy}?  I'll be honest & say that I'm not a home-body.  I don't sit well!  I like to be busy, running from here-to-there.  So being stuck at home so much lately has been a bit of a struggle for me.  But whenever I'm feeling down & out, all I have to do is stop to see things through the eyes of my children.  They find {joy} in the most ordinary things...things that I often don't notice or take for granted.  I'm so thankful for all that I learn from them when I see things through their eyes!  I amazed at how much {joy} surrounds me each & every day.

Cole takes complete pleasure in being the biggest brother.  He delights in the littlest of things when it comes to his sister...hugs, holding her hand at the dinner table while saying the prayer & taking her on little family adventures where he holds her hands while quietly telling her all about the details of what she's looking at.

Ben finds pleasure in doing things for other people.  He has prepared & cooked dinner 2 nights this week (with very minimal help from me).  Yesterday when I stopped to buy some mums, he ran back to the truck to dig out some change so he could buy some purple mums for his teacher (yes, he even knew that was her favorite color).  He finds {joy} in making others smile & making us proud.

Meg is at a stage of disovery where I could just sit back & watch her all day.  This week while being stuck at my doctor's office for over an hour and a half, she completely entertained herself talking, laughing & making silly faces at herself in the mirror.  I think she forgot that I was even in the room.

So if you're having a hard time finding {joy} just look through the eyes of child.  You'll quickly see that it's in loving others, doing nice things for others & liking who you see when you look in the mirror!
